Odyssey is the group I facilitate on Sunday mornings. We meet in the Activity building at 7:30AM.
Anyway the purpose of our group is to disciple some God picked men to find their callings in God. The group has been very successful and I see such a growth in these guys. It is truly a God work in progress.
I thought I would share a little about what we are studying. This phase we are learning about being a a leader. The Making of a Leader to be precise. So I will lead them down a path that will explore leadership from every possible angle. The first week we talked about the nature of leadership and the fact that the leaders we build need to emphasize character, wisdom and piety. I am not against academic degrees I actually have a Th.B (Bachelor of Theology) but we as a church over emphasized those degrees to the point that pride, hypocrisy and spiritual lifelessness (laziness!) gained a tremendous foothold in the church.
It became all about the me instead of the Him! (JOHN 3:30 ESV)
The degree I have along with a couple of dollars will get me a cup of coffee, maybe.
I will add more later. So for now….
